Actually, I used Youtube to start but it was terrible. They only let you have 10 iunmte videos. I am in the process of converting all of my video to self hosting. My newer ones are like that. No more advertisements. Eventually all of mine will be that way
I tried to compile Allegro 5 from sucroe because A) I’d rather use a text editor/command line/makefile to compile and B) I wanted to statically link Allegro to the executable, which I think needs to be done at compile time. Do you think you could update this with help compiling Allegro 5 from the sucroe (or at least statically linking Allegro)? The wiki leaves too much to the imagination, and I couldn’t figure it out, even though I managed to compile Allegro 4.4 just fine.
Hey man, I appreciate Your tiltruaos alot. I have a half-term task to create a 2D game and Your works done here is really helpful for me.About the keyboard, I was wondering how to ged rid of the short lag when pushing 2nd button. I mean, when we hold down right arrow and during movement push e.g. upper arrow, the movement is not continuous, the squere stops for a moment. Will it be enought just to make our event depend on timer and FPS?
hey mike i am having a bit of a pelborm when i run this program it brings up a window that says unhandled exeption at 0x100306ee in Sprites!.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0 00000014. then it has two buttons that say break or? continue, if i break it takes me to tidtable.c and if i continue it takes me back to the same option, this has happened before and i had to reinstall everything in order to fix it could you help me?
You can certainly do that, but I would not csneidor it better. Get pixel operations are costly as far as efficiency goes. Also it is worth noting, that in this example we aren’t using bitmaps. Therefore, we would have to draw to the screen and then pull back from the screen. Bounding box collision is much more efficient.
